What a busy day. I'm at that point of pure exhaustion. Preston was into everything and was fussy. Poor kid is teething - which makes him twice as feisty. I had a small bowl of his baby food on the counter. As I was holding him, he took his monkey toes and swiped the bowl onto the floor. Baby food everywhere - walls, cabinets, frig.... Later on, I had a bowl of cereal with a little bit of milk left over.....Preston, with his cat-like reflexes, grabbed the bowl and spills milk everywhere - TV, couch, carpet, coffee table.... I just wanted to cry.
Josh is in class until 1 am, so a much needed break is a no-go.
Preston finally fell asleep. I'm just hoping he stays asleep. Usually he doesn't. He gets up an average of 4 times a night - which is making sleep a thing of the past. I heard of the 'Cry-it-out' approach - basically letting the kid cry until he falls asleep. It's supposed to teach the kid to fall asleep on his own. I tried it and Preston cried for 2 hours. It was horrible. So I gave in. Now I'm ready to try again because I'm at the point of pure exhaustion. I don't think it's good for baby #2. Ok. When we get back from our trip to South Dakota on February 4th, we're going to teach the darling to sleep on his own.
