Here it is, 5 am on a cold snowy morning. There's such a quietness about this hour - could be seem as peaceful, could quite possibly be seen as erie. You know the kind of erie that it's so quiet that something is about to happen? Like the peacefullness is too good to be true??? Well at 4:30 am, I was awakened to a smiley faced baby wanting to play. I tried putting him back to sleep but his happy-go-lucky self was ready to start the day. So I scooped him up hoping Josh wouldn't wake up - as he has an early wake up call at 6:30am to go to school. Preston and I will most definitely go back to bed in a few hours - poor Josh can not.
So here I am, drinking tea and having some toast - trying my best to keep Preston entertained and quiet (which is making writing this a long task.)
I hope you all have a wonderful day - mine is looking rather long at this point!!
Life is a roller coaster, filled with every emotion possible. Some moments over flowed with happiness, others sorrow...that is life. But choosing to love through it all is all that matters. Cheers to living an abundant life!

One of those weeks...
What a week!
Our poor Durango has been through hell and back. It all started when the battery wouldn't start at the airport - we just thought the battery was drained dued to -17 degree weather. So, after getting a jump, the next day it wouldn't start. OK. Bad battery. Josh makes the trek to Walmart to get a new one. No biggie - problem solved. Rigghhhttttt - we wish.
Two weeks later - the Durango refused to start. That the ...... So we try jumping it - no go. Then we charge the battery all night - still nothing.
God Bless USAA (our auto insurance) and their awesome road side assistance. We got a tow to a Midas Auto in a neighboring town. Now all we had to do was wait to hear the prognosis.
Remember that battery? You know the one at Walmart? It was an Evercharge and oh boy did it ever screw us over. Turns out it was a defective battery - the positive and negative terminals were mixed up - thus labeled wrong. The result of this?
It fried a cable that went from the battery to the alternator PLUS fried our radio/speakers AND our security system. So anything that was directly connected to this piece of crap battery was doomed to all hell.
Hopefully the makers of this battery take care of the costs for what their battery has done. We have to submit our invoices for repairs and get estimates for the radio and alarm. What a pain the butt this all has been!!! We feel like this has taken up so much of our time - and it really has.
So that has been our week. ugggg!
Poor Preston has had a running nose. Slowly this is turning into a cold. Hopefully a mild one and one that doesn't affect his ears. One more ear infection and he's getting tubes in his ears. uggg!
And it's supposed to dump 7-12 inches of snow this weekend. *JUST* when I thought Spring was nearing....

Bubbles Rock
Need 30 hours in a day
Ok. So I'm the worst blogger ever. Every night while laying in bed, I think "crap - I didn't write in the blogger today." Everyday I have the best intentions to write and then somehow my day flies by me. I feel bad that I haven't been more commited to this. I guess my priorities to my husband, son and myself have consumed my time. But I love to write and share my thoughts. Can I find a happy medium? I shall try internet land.

Preston is growing up
So there I was...
laying on our comfy bed with my belly partially exposed...
....when suddenly Preston's little lips form a seal on my belly and then the kid blows air...thus causing a farting sound. This came from a 12 month old!!! I laughed soooo hard and was amazed he picked up on it. Of course Josh and I do it all the time to him - so I guess I had it coming to me! It was the cutest moment. I must get this on video!

We are the Griswalds!
We just got back from our long trip to my birthplace, Sturgis, South Dakota. Man I'm exhausted! Visiting relatives should be relaxing - which in a way was - but I am feeling so tired. Preston slept in until 11:45 am, took an hour and half nap and is now in bed at 8:30 pm. He never sleeps this much in a day! I think he's just as tired as Josh and I are. Preston was so incredibly good on the entire trip - from the plane ride there to the plane ride back. The kid was so tired yet smiled through his puffy red eyes. God Bless Preston! He was the hit of the entire trip. Everyone - from relatives to complete strangers - got a huge smile from Preston. He brightens any one's day. We are so grateful for such a precious little boy.
Right in the middle of our visit, Josh started getting kidney pains....oh no....kidney stones have resurfaced once again. My dad and brother took him to the Veteran's Affairs Hospital. Thank God there was one so close - as Josh can get free health care there. Woohooo for drugs! Percocet was Josh's best friend that night.
We celebrated Preston's first birthday a tad early. My mom got him this adorable small chocolate cream cake from him to dig into. Oh and he did! I'll post pictures at some point - I'm too darn tired to do much - which is why I'm being very general about our trip! Being pregnant on top of it all is making my brain cells decrease - I swear! I feel air headed. I actually read that feeling air headed is one of the symptoms of pregnancy! So that is my excuse! ha
Anyway...we get off the plane and gather all our bazillion bags. Josh goes out and braves the bitter cold to get the car. He tries to start the car...nothing...oh crap. At this point his hands are at the edge of becoming frozen....hello! it's -17 degrees out! Yes folks, I said NEGATIVE 17. Thank God for our insurance's road side insurance!!! USAA gets a big shout out from us. They had a truck out to help us in less than 10 minutes. That rocks in every way possible. So we made it home by 11 pm - dropped into bed with shear exhaustion.
Today I did manage to unpack but had little motivation to do anything else. I'm now convinced that relatives really do suck the energy outta ya!
