We are the Griswalds!

We just got back from our long trip to my birthplace, Sturgis, South Dakota. Man I'm exhausted! Visiting relatives should be relaxing - which in a way was - but I am feeling so tired. Preston slept in until 11:45 am, took an hour and half nap and is now in bed at 8:30 pm. He never sleeps this much in a day! I think he's just as tired as Josh and I are. Preston was so incredibly good on the entire trip - from the plane ride there to the plane ride back. The kid was so tired yet smiled through his puffy red eyes. God Bless Preston! He was the hit of the entire trip. Everyone - from relatives to complete strangers - got a huge smile from Preston. He brightens any one's day. We are so grateful for such a precious little boy.

Right in the middle of our visit, Josh started getting kidney pains....oh no....kidney stones have resurfaced once again. My dad and brother took him to the Veteran's Affairs Hospital. Thank God there was one so close - as Josh can get free health care there. Woohooo for drugs! Percocet was Josh's best friend that night.

We celebrated Preston's first birthday a tad early. My mom got him this adorable small chocolate cream cake from him to dig into. Oh and he did! I'll post pictures at some point - I'm too darn tired to do much - which is why I'm being very general about our trip! Being pregnant on top of it all is making my brain cells decrease - I swear! I feel air headed. I actually read that feeling air headed is one of the symptoms of pregnancy! So that is my excuse! ha

Anyway...we get off the plane and gather all our bazillion bags. Josh goes out and braves the bitter cold to get the car. He tries to start the car...nothing...oh crap. At this point his hands are at the edge of becoming frozen....hello! it's -17 degrees out! Yes folks, I said NEGATIVE 17. Thank God for our insurance's road side insurance!!! USAA gets a big shout out from us. They had a truck out to help us in less than 10 minutes. That rocks in every way possible. So we made it home by 11 pm - dropped into bed with shear exhaustion.

Today I did manage to unpack but had little motivation to do anything else. I'm now convinced that relatives really do suck the energy outta ya!
