Lord.....help us

So we went to church yesterday. (yeah for us!) We tried out an Assembly's of God Church - not the kind of church either one of us has ever gone to - but we thought 'what the heck.' Our first impression upon entering the nursery of the church was that it was nice. The pastor's wife greeted us and immediately insisted that we take the grand tour of the place. More out of obligation, we went along. It was really a neat church - with lots and lots of activities and such. We were impressed of how nice they were. So we finally break away from the really sweet yet very talkative pastor's wife and get into the service. The praise and worship (music) started. Well it took us a whole 5 seconds to figure out that the music lacked....well I hate to be mean but....the lead singers sang her heart out (God Bless her) but she drowned out the rest of the band. I wouldn't call her a Grammy winner by any means...(I'm really trying to be nice here.) As far as the rest of the band, all we could hear is drums - their sound guy really needs to make a good balance of all instruments and mics. After nearly an hour of that, the sermon finally started. The pastor is a sweet guy. The thing is, his sermon was kinda boring. He is one of those guys who tries to be funny but well....(again trying really darn hard to be nice)...
I guess we weren't impressed. The last church we went to in Phoenix, was incredible and awesome in every way. It makes finding another church that much harder!!
Well we tried - perhaps we'll go again - we really want the fellowship. At least Preston had a blast!

We're having a girl, folks!!!

Woohooo!! This is so incredibly exciting!! I am glowing with extreme happiness right now! We are getting our princess. I had a notion that I was having a girl, just by the way I was carrying. But I didn't want to get my hopes up one way or another. Deep down I really wanted a girl - a mini me! So when the ultrasound tech announced that it was a girl, I just cried. It was like my life felt complete. Having my incredible husband, precious boy and now my baby girl, I feel so grateful. I am thanking God for everything He's given to me.

2 glorious years and counting

Yesterday was my wonderful husband and my 2nd anniversary. Has 2 years really gone by since we got married?! Good Lord time flies! Well it's been a heck of busy 2 years at that. We had a baby, got out of the military, moved up to Wisconsin, he started school and now we're having baby #2! Woooo!
We had a great and relaxing anniversary. There is this water park/hotel in the middle of no-where - about 30 minutes west of Madison. Since our son, Preston, LOVES to swim, we decided to go there. Deer Valley Lodge was super nice - it had that lodge feeling to it. Of course we upgraded our room and got the suite - all fancied up with a whirlpool in the living room. I took pictures and I promise to post them. I'm just too tired at the moment to get the pics off my camera. But I will do it tomorrow or the next.
We swam and swam until our skin was all wrinkled. The smiles on Preston's face alone was well worth the trip. I really want to go back there soon. The only complaint I have is that there isn't a decent restaurant (well if you count Subway as fine dining...) in site. We had to drive 7 miles to get to a Culver's. So much for a nice fancy dinner! But a burger and fries satisfied this pregnant momma! : )
OK - I'm at that point of feeling retarded tired and not to mention bloated like a blow fish. I feel like someone could literally roll me! So off to bed I go! Night!
